About workshop

Join Nikki Anderson for a focused, practical workshop before WaysConf 2026. This session is designed for a smaller group, giving participants more space for exercises, discussion, and direct interaction with the facilitator.

Date: September 15, 2026

Duration: 4 hours

Time: 12:00 PM–4:00 PM

Location: Apteka Designu, ul. Mikołaja Kopernika 19A, Kraków

Format: Half-day workshop

Language : English

This workshop is designed for senior researchers who already know how to do strong research, but struggle to make its value visible to leadership. It focuses on how to track, frame, and prove research impact in a way that supports strategic conversations, promotion cases, stakeholder updates, and budget discussions.

Nikki Anderson will introduce a practical model for understanding research impact beyond product metrics. Participants will learn how to identify impact across six lenses: Person, Team, Process, Product, Strategy, and Organisation, and how to translate research outcomes into business language that leadership understands.

The workshop includes practical exercises, peer discussion, and work on participants’ own examples. Attendees will audit their recent research work, map it to business value, practise writing stronger impact statements, and build their own research impact tracker. The session also covers ROI types such as time savings, revenue, retention, activation, and community, including how to match the right impact story to the right stakeholder.

By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a populated impact tracker, rewritten business-focused impact statements, a personal impact narrative plan, and a simple habit for continuously documenting research value instead of scrambling before performance reviews.
